This project includes the upgrade of the Master Sewage lift station in North Ft Myers, Florida. A sewer lift station is a pump station that moves wastewater from one area (elevation) to another area (elevation). This master lift station, located in the vicinity of Powell Creek south of Del Prado Blvd, collects wastewater from over half of the FGUA’s North Fort Myers service area and pumps it to the Del Prado Water Reclamation Facility (WRF). This station currently pumps on an average around 3 million gallons of sewage per day to WRF.
The existing lift station was originally constructed in 1990 and has undergone upgrades over the years. Based on both current and future growth in the FGUA’s North Fort Myers service area, the lift station must be expanded.
The FGUA has retained Wade Trim engineers to perform a analysis of the best options for upgrading the station. Design of the station upgrade will start in late fall, 2021 with an anticipated construction date of fall, 2022.
