Reuse/Force Main Replacements, Phase 1 (Powell Creek), North Fort Myers, FL

Description: This project includes the installation of approximately 2000 feet of sewer force main to replace an existing gravity sewer main along with the replacement of approximately 2000 feet of reclaimed water main (see attached sketches). This project will replace old mains that have experienced several breaks over the past several years due to shallow bedrock as well as increase the capacity of the existing force main system. This project is part of the FGUA’s on-going efforts to increase system reliability and protect our local natural resources.

The estimated project cost is $1.2 million. Construction is anticipated to start in September, 2020 with completion in early 2021.

UPDATE – December 3, 2020

The FGUA bid the project in May 2020 and the responsible low bidder was Gulf Coast Underground of Ft Myers, Florida in the amount of $884,793.87.  The Notice to Proceed was issued in October 2020 and construction is underway.  All work is scheduled for completion by May 2021.
