Description: Rainbow River – Rio Vista Septic to Sewer Project

FGUA is undertaking a septic to sewer project in the Rio Vista community located in the City of Dunnellon. The project consists of connection of approximately 333 septic tanks from single family homes in the Rio Vista neighborhood in the Rainbow Springs basin management action plan (BMAP) primary focus area (PFA). This will result in approximately 3,300 lbs/yr nitrogen reduction in the Rainbow Springs. The project includes 154 grinder pump stations, a sanitary sewer gravity collection system, a sanitary sewer transmission line, roadway restoration and upgrades to an existing lift station. FGUA awarded the design consultant agreement to Wade Trim and hosted a kickoff meeting in late May. Subsequent to that meeting, Wade Trim commenced collecting survey data and data on FGUA’s existing lift stations within the Rio Visit service. FGUA and Wade Trim hold monthly design progress meetings to ensure the project is moving forward as planned. FGUA also hosted a community project update meeting on August 24th. The septic to sewer project’s 30% design deliverable is due late January ’24. Final design is anticipated to be complete by December ’23. The project construction is anticipated to be 18 months with the overall completion anticipated in quarter 2 2026.
