(Peace River, Wauchula ) The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) has scheduled a shutdown of water service at 9:00AM on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, for a water main diversion at 676 Snell Street.  This shut down is system wide and will affect all 96 connections. The entire project is expected to take approximately 6 hours to complete. Every effort will be made to restore services as soon as possible.  All affected customers are being notified by door hanger and a call notification.

Following restoration of water service, a Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory will be in effect. During the Advisory, in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, customers are encouraged to bring water used for cooking or drinking to a rolling boil for at least one minute, enough to render water free of bacterial, viruses, or protozoa. Alternatively, bottled water may be used.

Water samples will be collected and taken to a Florida Department of Health-certified laboratory. Provided that the FGUA receives clearance for two rounds of water sampling results the FGUA will attempt to rescind the Advisory by Friday, March 15th, 2024.
