The FGUA has completed repairs to the eight-inch water main break at 2:40 p.m. this evening.  The Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory is now in effect, and will be rescinded once water samples indicate that the water is safe to drink, most likely by Tuesday, November 14.

Sunday, November 12, 2023, 10:45 a.m.

The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) has extended the Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory to all FGUA Village Water System customers, due to challenges with isolating the areas affected by the water main break, which required a temporary interruptions of service this morning to the entire service area.  All customers have received door hangers and a Reverse 911 notification will be sent to all customers.  Service is expected to b restored this afternoon. The FGUA apologizes for any inconvenience this emergency preplanned service interruption may be causing.

The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) has experienced an 8″ water main break located on Maine Ave and Dawn Heights, affecting 76 FGUA customers on Sunday, November 12th. Service will be interrupted at 8:00 a.m., The following customers will be affected by this activity: Industrial Plaza on Maine Ave and Dawns Heights Dr and the surrounding residences.

Following restoration of service, a Pre-planned Boil Water Notice Advisory will be in effect and will be rescinded once water samples taken to an independent, Florida Department of Health-certified laboratory indicate that the water is safe to drink, most likely by Wednesday, November 15th.  During the Advisory, customers are encouraged to follow United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, and bring water used for cooking or drinking to a rolling boil for one minute.  This will neutralize any possible active viruses or bacteria that may have entered the lines during the improvements.  Alternatively, bottled water may be used.

Door tags will be hand delivered to the affected customers once repairs are complete.
